The headmaster and priestess of post punk wave, Patti Smith has already revealed to the media hat she’s finishing a new book, a mystery story set in London and inspired by Sherlock Holmes, as Agatha Christie, Ian Rankin and Stieg Larsson in the past.
“I’m at about the 68% of a real ‘detective story’, based in England”, told Patti, following the success of the National Book Award “Just Kids”, adding that “for the last two years I’ve been working on a detective story that starts at St Giles-in-the-Fields in London,” she said. Now, whenever the singer is in the city, she visits the church “where it came to me“.
She has published, in about 40 years, more than a dozen books of poetry and collections of artworks and lyrics, influenced also by working in the past with Allen Ginsberg.
Patti Smith is also recording a new album, influenced by Saint Francis of Assisi, Dylan Thomas and Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita”.
