Deck The Halls With Boughs Of Holly Santa Claus Is Coming To Town! Indeed this is the season for Caroling and German Restaurant, Zum Schneider on 107 Avenue C in NYC, presents joyful weekends leading up to Christmas Day where customers will be able to sing Christmas Carols “With Beer Under the Christmas Tree.”

Zum Schneider was opened on August 19, 2000 by Sylvester Schneider, a native of Weßling am Weßlinger See, Bavaria, and long-time resident of Alphabet City. The restaurant features twelve German beers on tap, a traditional Bavarian-German menu, and seasonal specialties. Throughout the year the restaurant opens up for popular events like Karneval, May Day, World Cup, Euro Cup, Anniversary Party, Oktoberfest, Adventsingen, and New Year’s Eve.

Sylvester also co-founded the house Oompah band, the JaJaJa’s where he is the frontman Mösl Franzi. This inspired his Advent Singing occasions so that his clients could enjoy the festive season. During these afternoons the repertoire embraces German and American sing-along Christmas music for all ages. Everyone is provided with a song book, making it easy and fun to sing along with owner Sylvester Schneider and Ben Ickies on guitar, accordion, and hammered dulcimer.

Be prepared to sing ‘Oh Tannenbaum’ and ‘Stille Nacht’ as well as ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘The 12 Days of Christmas.’ Try not to sing with your mouth full and remember to wear something Christmassy, possibly one of those embarrassing colourful festive jumpers.
