Monsters Wanted is the story of Rich Teachout who quit his lucrative job to focus on creating a one-of-a-kind haunted attraction. With his partner Janel Nash, Rich dedicated every moment, ounce of energy, and dollar to making their Scream Park a reality.

This documentary, directed by Brian Cunningham and Joe Laughrey, portrays with amusement, drama and “horrific” moments Rich and Janel’s adventure, to what proved to be a success. Monsters Wanted unveils the ambitious preparation of the Asylum Haunted Scream Park in Louisville, Kentucky, every step of the way: the construction, casting, and the actor training of a middle-America Halloween attraction. Everyone who was involved in the making of the Scream Park — including stage managers Kaley Roberts and Dusty June — exemplify the dedication of hard-working people who aren't only bringing to impressive fruition a vision and dream, but find in each other a newfound acceptance.

Monsters Wanted is an ode to the commitment of people who have taken a leap of faith, sacrificing all certainties and facing a variety of pressing labours, controversies, financial strains, all in the name of what they love. And in the end it proves to be worth it to them because of the end result.
